Boxosaurus io is a dinosaur arena game where you eat, grow through 17 levels and pick a class with its own way to fight. Bigger dinos hit harder, though they also get slower.

How to play

You start as a Hatchling and grow through Juvenile, Adult and Alpha stages until you reach Titan. Food gives XP: sprouts are worth +2, berries +5 and apples +10. Staying still in tall grass hides you, and the first attack from camouflage deals x1.5 damage. Sprinting or attacking gives your position away, so rushing out too early is usually a waste.

The three classes play quite differently. Triceratops can spin around, stun nearby rivals and has head armor. T-Rex gets a huge bite plus a charge with Shift + Space. Raptor lays eggs in nests and can move with a pack, which makes its game a bit more tactical. Boxosaurus io also rewards taking on bigger targets with extra XP, but going after a Titan while tiny can get wild pretty fast.

Tips

• Use grass before starting a fight for x1.5 damage
• Cross rivers at fords to avoid the slowdown
• Back off for a moment to recover when you are not being hit
• Titans give a large XP bounty
