Torpeduck io is a multiplayer browser boat brawler for up to eight players. Everyone shares one lake, and the default steering lets the boat turn in only one direction.

How to play

The odd control scheme is the whole point of Torpeduck io. Instead of correcting left and right like in a normal arcade boat game, you set the turn early, line up the cannon and attack when the bow finally points where you want. Double-tap Space for a dash if the angle goes bad. Astro Party is the clear inspiration, and the setup feels simple until several boats start crossing the same patch of water. Then it gets wild.

There are three modes: Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch and Free for All. CTF is about the objective, while FFA is more about reading approach angles and not wasting a clean shot.

Tips

• Start the turn before you reach the place where you want to aim
• Use the dash to fix spacing, not only to move faster
• In CTF, watch the flag instead of chasing every boat
