Boots And Bullets is a top-down squad shooter where you command six tiny soldiers through short, dangerous missions. It feels old-school on purpose, somewhere close to Cannon Fodder, only running straight in your browser.

How to play

Your squad moves together. Click a spot on the map and the soldiers head there, then attack opponents with the right mouse button. The catch is simple: one good hit can take a soldier out, so rushing across open ground is usually a bad plan. Trees and other parts of the map are useful for approaching carefully.

Boots And Bullets has 50 campaign missions split between jungle, desert and the Frozen North. Between missions, War Bonds can be spent in the Armoury on weapons, throwables and call-ins. Losing one guy hurts more than expected once you've dragged the same little squad through several maps.

Tips

• Move the squad through cover instead of rushing across open areas
• Save War Bonds for upgrades you actually use
• Check ahead before moving the whole squad into a new area
